Entries are now open for the May 2022 Championship show.
After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the Spanish Water Dog Club Championship Show is finally making its welcome return. Sponsored by Royal Canin, the club's fourth championship show is taking place on Saturday 7th May 2022 in conjunction with the National Dog Show at Staffordshire County Showground.
Judging this show and awarding challenge certificates' for best dog and best bitch, is long standing breed owner, enthusiast and supporter Mrs Sheila Burditt. Sheila will also be kindly donating prizes for Best in Show, Dog and Bitch challenge certificates' and Best Puppy in Show.
In addition to the main judging classes, the club also has permission to run 'Special Award Classes'. Beaten dogs under the Special Award Classes are not classed as a beaten dog or disqualified from competing in the main show for the CC awards. At this show the 3 Special Award Classes are being judged by Mrs Shirley Hockenhull. Exhibitors are kindly asked to support the Special Award Classes, which can now be entered without the need to have entered a dog in one of the classes in the main show.
As the Club are holding two Championship Shows this year, the perpetual cups and trophies awarded to the winners at this May 2022 Championship Show, will be required to be returned for awarding at the next Championship Show, which is due to be held on 4th September 2022. They will need to be returned to the Cup Steward by the latest 27th August 2022 by insured, recorded delivery. Perpetual trophies and cups can be returned in person at our Championship Show in September but the Cup Steward MUST BE NOTIFIED of this well in advance of the event.
Entries to the show can be made either by post or online via Higham press. Postal entries close on Saturday 9th April 2022 (postmark), whilst online entries can be made up until 12 noon on Saturday 23rd April 2022.
