It's been a busy few months ! Following on from the 1st SWD to ever be made a full champion, winning in the field and showring, we now have some more 'firsts' to share !
We have the first ever SWD to be awarded a Veteran Warrant. This award is specifically for dogs of 7 or over and the 25 points needed to claim the award, can only be collected at open shows and specifically from Any Variety Veteran or Veteran Stakes classes. Points are awarded at 4 for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 for 4th/Reserve.
So let us introduce Adormidera Ziggy Star Dust (VW) - Ziggy - who gained his VW award in October, at 9 years old. He started competing and chasing points for this award in October 2024 and was often in very large and competitive classes.

Our other success story for SWD 'firsts', comes from an alternative dog activity - Heelwork to Music!
Club Member Amanda Seddon and her dog Pinto - Mourama Altea - can now add
HTM ST EX to his name after winning his Starters class and being awarded an Excellent at a HTM competition licensed by the RKC.

This now means that Pinto has out qualified and will start next season in the Novice Classes. Amanda has worked hard to try out all sorts of activities with Pinto and we are delighted that our breed is becoming more visible in other dog sports.

Huge congratulations on your achievements !
