Well, what a weekend ! We all had a great time at the event and were thrilled to welcome a Royal visitor to the SWD breed stand - HRH Prince Michael of Kent, escorted by Tony Allcock OBE, Chair of The Royal Kennel Club.
Thank you to all our lovely volunteers who rallied round to ensure there was a wide selection of dogs available for them to meet. We had more than 35 dogs representing the breed over the 4 days.
This all occurred whilst the breed judging was taking place in ring 36, hall 5 by our Judge Richard Bott, so huge thanks to those who helped out at DD.
Richard found his Best Of Breed in the Dog CC winner, Bombadee Pirelli, owned and shown by Tomek Kaczorek from Poland, pictured below.
We were joined ringside and at the breed stand by Antonio Garcia Perez, regarded as the 'Father' of our breed, who wrote the first breed standard in Spain in 1979. He joined us from the AEPAE - Asociation Espanola del Perro de Agua Espanol (apologies for the English spelling!), with some of their other committee members, Ruben Rodrigues, Manolo Moguer and Marco Hinestrosa. Our 'translate' apps worked well and we greatly appreciated their support and Antonio's gifts of sheeps' cheese for the Judge and at the ringside buffet after judging.
