Saturday 30th September 2023 will see the final club water training event of the year being held at SilverSands, Aberdour in Scotland and there is still time to sign up to take part.
Each training session is designed to encourage, develop and unlock your SWD's natural drive to work in the water. Through a progressive series of award levels, covering novice skills right up to pro, the training will initially help your dog feel comfortable in the water, with levels gradually increasing up to tasks such as sending you dog to collect and pull back water craft bearing someone on it. Not only is water training great for increasing your dogs natural working ability, it also helps to develop and strengthen the bond between owner/handler and the dog. Many club members (and non-members) have gone on to successfully work their way up through the levels.
