About The Judges
Pam Cox (Cushatlaw)
Coming from a dog loving family I have never been without a dog! Growing up with Gundogs and Terriers. I began exhibiting about 35 years ago with my original GSP and bred my first litter in 2001. It was at Championship Shows that I first came across SWDs while they were still on the Import Register. My cousin and I always made a point of watching these delightful dogs and talking to their owners. It was not until 2009 that I was in a position to be owned by a SWD (Luca) she was joined in 2011 by Pepi. Although, sadly, Luca is no longer with us Pepi is still enjoying life. I exhibited both Luca and Pepi at both Open and Champ show level (pre cc status) with reasonable success Working hard to promote the breed in my area.
I have been a member of the SWD club for about 15 years and had a period on the committee as Breed Health Coordinator. My SWDs and I represented the breed at Crufts in Discover Dogs and at a few Game Fairs. On behalf of the club I arranged Gundog Training for the club in Northumberland. I supported the club’s fight to remain in the gundog group providing written evidence of the SWDs working ability.
I am passed to award ccs in GSPs and have judged both gundog and terrier groups at Open Shows.

My interest in our fascinating breed happened by chance via a friend who had her first litter of Spanish Water Dogs. I was very fortunate that Poppy decided she wanted to be a member of my family and that was more than sixteen years ago.
Poppy has since passed over the bridge at a few weeks short of 15 years and I am lucky enough to have her daughter Leia, 11, Leia's son, Ziggy 7 and Leia’s granddaughter Dotty almost 2. I feel extremely privileged to have been able to breed under my own affix - Adormidera. I currently serve on the SWDC Committee as Hon Secretary, continuing the work of previous volunteers to promote and protect our rustic breed.
I am honoured to fulfil this appointment and look forward to the pleasure of judging your dogs in the Special Awards classes.
